Yup, Christmas has come and gone and now the countdown begins for new years. Hope everyone got what they wanted from santa this year. I got a sawblade with a mountain scene hand painted on it which is awesome, a new handheld video poker game, some M&M’s and cashews, a pack of socks, an Iron Maiden “Killers” hoodie sweatshirt (thanx Kari), a few gift cards (sears, best buy, McD’s), and some cash. Not too bad for a year where everyone I know is broke. Speaking of broke, that’s me too, so alot of people got hand made christmas cards from me this year. I love doing it anyway so being broke was a good excuse to make some fun things. If you haven’t gotten one from me yet, you probably will soon. I haven’t seen everyone yet to hand them out.
I haven’t gotten alot of feed back about the diet challenge thingy so I’m just assuming either every one is busy or doesn’t want to do it and that is fine. I’m gonna scale it back abit since I found my points system to be cumbersome, confusing at times, and just generally flawed. So I’m cutting the points system out completely. It will be just up to raw weight loss because I don’t want to deal with adding all the points and keeping track of it, especially if not many people will be involved. It will still be from Jan 1 to Jul 1, but it will just be about weight loss now. And like I said, anyone can join the game at any time, people who start the earliest have a big advantage though:p And you can loose the pounds any way you wish be it diet, excercise, pills, surgery, whatever. If you do have surgery there will be an asterix behind your name though:P Also, if anyone is bashfull about their weight and or measurements, then I will appoint Connie as an impartial score keeper. For those that do not want weights known, only your final percentage of weight loss and your placing within the game will be revealed. So how does that sound? Do you guys like this any better?
But regardless, I plan to take part if anyone joins me or not. We should all strive to be healthier anyway regardless of the circumstances behind it. I’m already starting to plan my course of action which, for now anyway, seems to involve cutbacks on portions of food, severe cutbacks on candy and pop, changes of diet, as well as regular three times a week weightlifting, and regular every day biking, hiking, walking, or running. Plus I want to try to get a place set up for my drums so I can start playing again because if I’m gonna get in shape, I might as well improve my thrash drumming while I’m doing it:P I really hope I stick with it this year, and that is also why I hope lots of people follow me down the road to better health. Because every one of us say we will get in shape every year, and it never happens. Well this year, if we all work together, it finnally will. So come join me. And everyone is welcome to come biking with me, or walking or lifting weights because we could use the company and motivation. And any excercise is good. If anyone wants to go frisbee golfing, or bowling, or take a trip to the driving range, whatever I’m in:P Let’s get some shit done this year people! lol
So yeah, 2006 is gonna kick ass. My goals is to get in shape, get in a band again, if I have money or time take guitar and or banjo lessons, and last but certainly not least is get working again and god willing find my own place. But moving out is the least likely just because of the level of brokeness I live in, and the level of cheapness this place is. But at the same time, I need to get out of here. It’s gonna be fun though:P Already planned for 2006 is Connie’s bankruptcy hearing, Dad’s divorce hearing, my (finnally) accident suit with the insurance company, and there will always be more. But fun stuff already includes the 2006 Moto Guzzi National Rally in Elkader, IA, and possibly a trip to the south west to visit Zach. So here’s to 2006! It’s gotta be better than 2005!
