A Murder Ballad and Then Some

Hey guys. Not much to talk about today. Still been pretty un-eventful for me lately. Hopefully that will pick up soon.

Anyway, I spent a chunk of yesterday going through the archives of my site and decided it’s been awhile since I’ve given you song lyrics from me. So since I just finnished a few of them this week, I thought it would be prudent to post them here now:P

So here they are…..

Paul’s Birthday

Next Monday, our beloved, and often missing and forgotten, Paul is turning the big 21. He contacted me earlier and left me in charge of his birthday festivities, and in turn, I am requesting some feedback on the issue.

What would we all like (or be able to) do? He says Monday night he would like to go to Wendells but understands that it is out of the way for most. Also, he says if not enough people can make it to a Monday night event, he is willing to have a seperate gathering the following weekend if people wish. He says he doesn’t care what happens Monday, as long as he can go somewhere and drink:P So what do you all think? Who can make it to Wendells Monday night and who can’t? And if you have suggestions for the following weekend, let me know what they are. Either post a comment, call me, e-mail me, text message me, whatever. Just let me know.

Otherwise, I will plan on Wendells Monday night for the time being. Possible gathering the following weekend like Saturday night or something. But most important is your ideas. So get them to me:P

Also, I am supposed to inform the group, Paul does not request any gifts or cards or such. All he requires, is you show up, shake his hand, and have a drink with him. That is all. So don’t waste your money buying him any presents:P Of course, he might be like a woman (say one thing and mean the opposite:P) so you might want to get him something anyway:P I probably will go to the old Goodwill store. lol

So that’s it today, leave suggestions or comments here, or contact me this week sometime. No quiz of the day today, you all get the night off:P

BoBo’s Thoughts on the Pledge of Allegiance

This seems to be the hot debate recently, for some reason. Zach has had a few posts about it, and I wanted to add my two cents to the debate. Posting a comment earlier, I found that I had more to say than a comment would allow. So I deleted it and decided to post my remarks on my own page, to alow myself propper room for discussion.

So here goes…..

From Bad to Worse

Just a short entry, since I don’t have too much to discuss today.

Today my great uncle Kenny goes under the knife for a double bypass. That’s gonna be fun. Originally they were just going to insert a stint, but when they went in, they found the blockage was at a Y in the artery so they had to do open heart surgery instead. To make it better, his birthday is on Thursday. He’s very lucky he didn’t have a heart attack since the doctors say two arteries have 95% blockage. So my thoughts are with him today. So like I said, not much to discuss today since I’m too woried to write something interesting to anyone:P

But just for the sake of normalcy, we shall still have a quiz of the day….

9/11+4

Hard to believe it’s been four years already. Seems just like yesterday that the world changed so much. Four years ago. I was fresh out of highschool, working a part-time grocery job. Four years ago, I sat in amazement glued to the television all day long. Watching the planes fly into the towers over and over again in re-play like some horrible Jerry Bruckheimer film. Four years ago, I had no idea what had happened, what would happen. No idea. Maybe I still don’t. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Four years my anti Bin Laden sticker has remained on the back window of my truck. Four years now, and he still hasn’t been found. Somebody find that dickwad already.

Can’t say I did too much today to commemorate the anniversary, but it did cross my mind fequently as I went about my day and I like to think that the terrorists failed their mission. Four years later, and I did the exact same things I would have done four years earlier on a sunday afternoon. I helped dad do some work around the house and the garden. Played with my cat. Ate supper with the family and watched the season premier of the new Fox sunday night lineup. And listened to metal every second I had alone. Four years later, and I still love this country. That thought remained with me all day.

So what did BoBo listen to today? Hammerfall-Chapter V Un-bent, Un-bowed, Un-broken. Dio-Killing the Dragon and Magica. Exodus-Tempo of the Damned. Impellitteri-Screaming Symphony and System X. Black Label Society-1919 Eternal and Mafia. Steve Via-The Infinite Steve Via an Anthology Vol. 1. Machine Head-Through the Ashes of Empires. Yngwie Malmsteen-Unleash the Fury. Arch Enemy-Doomsday Machine. Stratovarius-Elements Pt. 1. Judas Priest-Angel of Retribution. Iron Maiden-Dance of Death. Iced Earth-The Glorious Burden. Demons and Wizards-Touched by the Crimson King. Deep Purple-The Battle Rages On.

Now I didn’t listen to every song on every album. Some I skipped to tracks that I like or particularly bring up memories of 9/11 like Dio’s Rock n’ Roll and Iced Earth’s When the Eagle Cries or BLS’s Bleed for Me. But some I listened to all the way through, Hammerfall made me extremely happy to be alive today.

So I guess those are my random bits of blabber for today. It’s hard to pin down exactly how I feel four years later, but I think what sums it up best is contemplative. Hope you all had a nice day and don’t focus on the darkness too much, it makes it harder to face the light.

Quiz of the day for those who dare to continue……
