The Concert Update Post, and some other stuff too I guess:P

Today, I have some major concert announcements for e53. But first, other news.

Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the other day. I liked it. Except that Johnny Depp was creepy, and the Oompa Loompas were also creepy and had songs that left alot to be desired.

Devil’s Rejects starts tomorrow:P

Also tomorrow, School Bus Races at Hawkeye Downs! Plus Minivans, Sprint Cars, and Flat Track Motorcycles! Yay!

Wisconsin Moto Guzzi Rally is the first weekend in August. I will be there. So will free Lienies on tap:P And no Wisconsin Guzzi rally would be complete without wine in a box and wisconsin cheese:P

Here is my official endorsement of Gatsby’s party that is on Saturday. Go to it. But only if he knows you:P

And I now have a cat. It’s a two and a half month old female black cat I got from Brandon. I still don’t know what to call her, but Mrs. Cat is already out:P Possible name so far may be Maiden. Cause you know, I like metal. Kari wants to call it “Sitta” (sp?) but I refuse on the grounds of “I will not name my cat after a character in the movie the Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood”. Because that is totally not metal, or cool.

And now on to the concert callender:P

Saturday, July 30th at 6pm is the Battle of the Bands at Roadhouse 69 in Ankeny. Dark Mirror will be there. So will I.

Ozzfest, firts Sunday in August. Two words: Iron Maiden. I’ll be there. Somerset, Wisconsin.

August 9th. Tuesday. Chimiara (CD Release), 3 Inches of Blood, Six Feet Under, and All That Remains. All ages. $16. Don’t know if I will go or not since it is so close to Ozzfest and all. And the only one I want to see is 3 Inches, who will be at Hairy Mary’s again in October, see below.

Hammerfall. 8-21-05. House of Blues Chicago. I’ll be there.

Statovarius. 9-28-05. House of Blues Chicago. Yeah. I’ll be at that one too.

Judas Priest. 10-2-05. Mark of Quad Cities in Moline, IL. You bet your ass I’ll be there.

10-5-05. New album out by Exodus called “Shovel Headed Kill Machine” featuring Paul Bostaph from Slayer on drums. First album with him and their new singer. Should be brutal:P

10-27-05. At Hairy Mary’s in Des Moines. Exodus, 3 Inches of Blood, and Crisis.

Holy shit! Some killer concerts coming up in the next few months. I found out about Exodus/3 Inches of Blood literally about a half hour ago so I’m still excited about that. Some dates have no ticket info or price info up yet, when I find out I will inform interested parties.

Ok, so here is the quiz question of the day. The very first Corvette apeared in this year. What was it? Also, for bonus points, What was the only engine you could get in the Corvette in it’s first year of production? Be specific. I want the ci size, number of cylinders, and it’s nickname. For even more bonus points, in what year did the Thunderbird, Ford’s answer to the Corvette, come out?

Anyway, I’ll see you all later.

  6. Spelling is Siddha and it is still a cool name no matter what movie it came from so there.

And why can’t you ever discover any concerts that I would want to go to??

  7. Ok, responding in order of appearance.

First, Congrats Chum. Finally someone with more spare time than me:P You forgot to mention that the ‘53 Corvette was only available in white:P Beautifull car. I’m still thinking up what your prize will be.

Second, I think it’s Clutch, not Cluth Brandon.

Third, he’s up early every morning, cause he goes to bed before midnight, unlike the rest of us. And you are welcome for the endorsement, just don’t make me regret endorsing it:P

Fourth, No it’s not, and I tried to go to Nightwish but they cancelled their tour. So it wasn’t my fault.
