The Car Crash King

Hello all:P If you like car chase movies as much as I do, you will love this post. You see, I like my car chase movies gritty and real. The modern computer animated car chase movies aren’t as fun as they should be. But, either way, there aren’t enough of them. So here is a tribute to my favorite car chase movie maker, H.B. “Toby” Halicki.

If you don’t know who Mr. Halicki is, I recomend you visit Gone in 60 Seconds

The Concert Update Post, and some other stuff too I guess:P

Today, I have some major concert announcements for e53. But first, other news.

Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the other day. I liked it. Except that Johnny Depp was creepy, and the Oompa Loompas were also creepy and had songs that left alot to be desired.

Devil’s Rejects starts tomorrow:P

Also tomorrow, School Bus Races at Hawkeye Downs! Plus Minivans, Sprint Cars, and Flat Track Motorcycles! Yay!

Wisconsin Moto Guzzi Rally is the first weekend in August. I will be there. So will free Lienies on tap:P And no Wisconsin Guzzi rally would be complete without wine in a box and wisconsin cheese:P

Here is my official endorsement of Gatsby’s party that is on Saturday. Go to it. But only if he knows you:P

And I now have a cat. It’s a two and a half month old female black cat I got from Brandon. I still don’t know what to call her, but Mrs. Cat is already out:P Possible name so far may be Maiden. Cause you know, I like metal. Kari wants to call it “Sitta” (sp?) but I refuse on the grounds of “I will not name my cat after a character in the movie the Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood”. Because that is totally not metal, or cool.

And now on to the concert callender:P

BoBo, Two Years Later

Hello everyone, welcome back to my ramblings of complete insanity:P Today is a special day for me. If everyone remembers correctly, it is the two year anniversary of the day I almost died. Yep, two years ago this day, a guy in a Buick tried to end my existence here on this planet. Was he successful? Obviously not. Should he have been? Maybe. But the fact is, I’m still here. And I’m not planning on leaving for quite a while yet. And if someone wants me gone, they are just gonna have to try harder next time.

Just thinking about the last two years is a whirlwind in my mind. All the ups and downs are enough to make even the most devoted rollercoaster enthusiast dizzy. But I wouldn’t change the past at all if I could. Because I probably would not have experienced the good had it not been for the bad. And even if it all had just been good, it wouldn’t have seemed as great as it was. Experiencing pain, loss, misery, uncertainty, confusion, and dejection, has a way of making the good things in life, that much nicer. It has a way of making you thankful for what you have in a way that spoiled people have no way of experiencing, and it is they, I feel most sorry for. I may not be rich, famous, powerful, popular, good looking, physically fit, or even liked, but I have experienced life, and I am thankful for that. Because two years this day, I almost missed a whole hell of alot of it.

Christian Repression

The title subject will be discussed in the extended part of this entry, but first, here is other news.

I attended the Elkader Moto Guzzi rally this weekend and had a blast. I got there Thursday with ben and set up camp. Took a journey into PDC to check out the local eateries and ended up getting ambushed by May Flies on the bridge on the way back to Iowa. It was like rain, only with bugs, they completely covered the surface of the bridge and clouded the air. I am very glad I wear a helmet:P

Friday brought a Gunder Burger. If you’ve not experienced the gunder burger, do it now. Late Friday Paul and his little friend showed up. We had lots of fun with the rally regulars staying up late BS’ing and drinking (me coke, them beer). I camped next to Greg and Mark from Iowa City and they were a blast. See you guys at the next rally:P Like they will ever read this:P Friday night also brought an awesome roast beef dinner catered by Johnsons restraunt in Elkader. Good place to eat, I also recomend it.

Saturday morning brought a pancake breakfast where Paul gourged himself in pancakes. Around noon, Gatsby showed up and we went to St Olaf to have the big tenderloin. Another food you have to eat before you die if you like tenderloins. Then Ned’s had a door prize giveaway where I got shafted. Then there was pork chops served on behalf of the Iowa pork producers. There was a parade after that but I didn’t attend because Paul’s gf was sick and he wasn’t there so I stayed there to make sure she didn’t die. Gatsby left, followed shortly by Paul and his friend, much to Pauls dissapointment. Then Sunday I came home, the long way:P And that pretty much covered the rally. Mostly relaxing, soaking up Guzzi’s and talking to friends you see at the rallies.

Speaking of friends, I’m not mad, but I wasn’t too impressed with the effort shown on behalf of some people to come see me. I don’t have a problem with people who say that they aren’t going to come because they are busy, or if they have a good excuse and are honest about it. But there was a lot of “Yeah, we’ll be up.” and then, no one showing up. A lot of call avoidance, or call non return. Shit like that. Like I said, I’m not mad. But at least be honest to me. That’s all I have ever asked. Don’t tell me you’re comming, and then I call you a day later and you just decided to do something else without telling me. I hate that. If your not comming, tell me. I wont name names, but you know who you are. It just plain hurts my feelings when I wait around all day for people to show up, that have no intention of coming, and don’t call to say they aren’t coming. Just say you aren’t comming next time.

Well, enough of that, it’s too hot to rant today (no air conditioning here, just a fan and open window). I had fun in Elkader and I can’t wait for the next rally. Wich depending on circumstances, could be Minnesota or Wisconsin. But will more than likely be Wisconsin wich is the first weekend of August if anyone cares. All I have to say about the Wisconsin Rally, is free Leinies on tap all weekend.

Also in the up-coming events section, Dark Mirror is doing a show in Cedar Falls this Saturday at the Reverb. I am going. Everyone is welcome to join me if they wish. And like I mentioned earlier, if you don’t want to go that’s fine, I won’t be mad:P Your loss. Alonso has told me that he will do a tribute to my idol this saturday. He would not tell me who my idol is, but I think we can all guess what he means.

I am still waiting for questions for Ask BoBo. See earlier posts about this. I still have recieved none.

And now, on to the whiny christians.

Hope everyone had a splendid July the 4th. To all the members past, present, and future of the U.S. Armed Forces: Thank You.

Just a reminder, I’m still looking for people to send me e-mails for Ask BoBo. Any Subject. Send them to cooncreekcritter (at) aol (dot) com. Plus don’t forget to try and crack the quiz at the bottom of every post:P Including the one at the bottom of this post.

On to the subject of this post. For a few months now, I have had a re-occuring dream about a heavy metal themed cafe. Well, here it is:P Enjoy!
