14.4 miles

This past Monday afternoon, Gatsby and I peddled our way into the e53 record books by riding our bicycles 14.4 miles. Wich means between the two of us, we rode damn near 29 miles:P We basically rode up and down the Sac and Fox nature trail in Marion, wich isn’t paved or flat either! We are mountain bike gods:P

Yeah we are no where near good yet, but that is impressive considering that we are the laziest and fattest of the e53 group, both of us weighing in excess of 200 lbs, and both of us just starting biking four weeks ago. And me with my gimpy leg:P

And this is only the begining, we plan on biking until we can master all the area trails in one go. Including the 50 mile plus cedar valley nature trail. And I plan on going to Dubuque sometime and ride the heritage trail, and when it is completed, we will master the Grant Wood trail. Also, Gatsby thinks that trying RAGBRAI in a few years is a good idea. It’s a lofty goal, but it might be fun, despite my loathing of bicycles on highways, and my hatred of hippies. But at least it’s well organized:P

I’m also hoping that in the future, this exercise thing might help my leg get better, and me get faster on the drums. Mabey even loose weight:P I also hope more staffers get bikes so we can ride sometime. Decent bikes can be aquired for little money and I have a truck so you don’t have to worry about transporting it, I’ll pick you up:P And I believe Gatsby has a spare bike but I don’t believe I would trust it at places like sugar bottom, but Sac and Fox or Cedar Valley would be appropriate trails for it. We might even have to plan a trip up to Madison next year to ride the Capitol City bike trail:P

Anyway, that’s all for now. Ride Bianchi or die!

Quote of the day: “My God is strong. When I die, I must go before him and recite the riddle of steel, and if I don’t know it, he will kick me out of Valhalla and laugh at me. That is Crom. Strong on his mountain.” Conan the Barbarian

Song stuck in BoBo’s head: In Dreams by Dio off new album Master of the Moon.
Last DVD watched: Family Guy season one.
DVD before that: Conan the Barbarian
Currently reading: The Onion: Our Dumb Century
Background noise: Humming computer intermingled with buzzing flies.
Current comfort level: Kinda cold and my back hurts. Itchy elbows.
Last food consumed: Pepperoni pizza ala Tombstone and some homemade brownie desert concoction that my brother made. Healthy no?

Wonderful Dio Interview

As the title of this article hints, I have read a great interview with my favorite vocalist of all time. In it he talks about the rumors of Sabbath or Rainbow reunions, he breaks down song by song the new album and tells about what influenced each, and explains alot about who Dio is and what he stands for. Also, he talks about the upcoming Hear’N'Aid 2 project. See it here: Dio Interview

Remember kids that the Dio/Anthrax show is fast aproaching and I’m getting tickets on the 25th of this month so let me know who’s going:P Sunday October 10th is the date of show.

*Update* 9/28/04- Here is another good Dio interview done recently with rock confidential:P Read it here: 2nd Dio Interview

*Update* 10/05/04- With less than a week to go until the big Dio/Anthrax mega-weekend, another Dio interview pops up worth reading! This time with Electric Basement. Dio sounds so intelligent and understanding when interviewed. Did I mention that Dio is awesome? Read the interview via this handy link: 3rd Dio Interview

Enzo VS FZ1!

I recently read an article in Cycle World magazine with a comparo of the best street bikes in the world where the Yamaha FZ1 came out the victor. And I also read an article in Motor Trend that put the Ford GT against the Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo in wich the Enzo came out the victor. So I thought it would be fun to put the Yamaha and Ferrari against one another to see who would come out on top:P
